you should be able to tell if the car is boosting properly. like when you step on it can you here the turbos spooling up? If youve never been in a car comparable to a z in power, you should be able to tell based on the fact that if you step on it in say second gear, if its not scary fast, then you probably have an issue with boost. There are plenty of z owners in SF, so if worst comes to worst and you cant figure anything out, im sure someone would be able to just hop in the car and tell you if your gauge is not working, or if your turbos arnt. IMHO buying an aftermarket boost gauge is not diving deep at all, you will probably end up getting one anyways because you would want to know how your boosting.
